One of the best things about staying on a farm is getting up early to milk the cows. Not too early though...
In this onsite guest exclusive activity, you will get a hands-on lesson with one of our farmers to teach you how to milk our jersey cows the old fashioned way - by hand! This is not as easy as it looks.
This tactile experience provides essential connection points between how milk is produced and procured and why it's so important to support our dairy farmers with our consumer spending.
You'll even get to taste some fresh, pasturised jersey milk from our very own cows. You can taste the difference!
Our facilitated cow milking experience is $5 per person and runs for approx 30 minutes. Pre-booking is required.
This activity can only be booked by guests staying onsite and overnight at Hosanna Farmstay.
Who doesn't love smashing pumpkins and talking to pigs?!
In this 20 minute experience, you'll get to participate in our morning pig feeding routine that involves, you guessed it, smashing pumpkins and feeding them to our pig family.
You'll meet our beloved Hercules and his girlfriends Tiny Pig & Pocahontas and hang out as our farmers give them some attention, have a play and show off some of their clever tricks. Our pigs are by far the smartest animals on our farm.
This experience gives an opportunity to not only hang out with the pigs, but do it with a farmer present so that you can ask questions and find out why pigs are so important to our farming philosophy here at Hosanna Farmstay.
Our smashing pumpkins pig feeding is $5 per person and runs for approx 20 minutes. Pre-booking online is essential
